Having an Instagram account is something that is beneficial for me. I have the chance to express myself through pictures, without saying too much.
Before digging deeper into what Instagram is and has to offer I assumed it was simply a social network that avoided drama or any negatives at that. This was because of the limited amount of access you have to "snoop" around others' accounts. It was not until I did more research and became an expert to Instagram that I understood there are negatives and positives to this social network.
The Goods! -being able to connect with others, such as families and old friends -able to express yourself through your pictures -photo sharing -a public display of your work as advertisement | The Not so Goods! -not being able to truly express who you are due to the people who will be able to see it -the competition against others on your Instagram -the hash tags that don't relate to your topic or what you've trying to explore -the limited privacy you have -others may not fully understand who you are as a person -having a hard time trying to get others to understand you |
As a whole, I will still continue to use Instagram. I know that not everyone may agree with what Instagram has to offer, but I feel as though everyone would like this social network better if they were just cautious about what they post up. Expressing yourself is something you should be free to do and not worry about what others think. I encourage you to be yourself and post away, you shouldn't worry about what others think.
