<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< An example of a drawing
There is no specific definition to what art is.
As a child, I‘ve always defined art as something that needed to be painted or drawn by an artist. The definition of what art is has been changing for many years now. In “The Collector and Art Critic” it is stated that one of the best definitions Sutton has seen is by Delsarte: “Art is a feeling passed through and fixed in form” (Sutton 1).
Although this may be true or understood, our definition of art has evolved and grown to be something that cannot be specific enough to define. Currently, Merriam Webster’s Dictionary defines art as “something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings” (Dictionary). Through my experiences and studies I’ve grown to learn that these definitions are accurate, but art also comes in all shapes, sizes, and forms.
