Our of all social networks Instagram or as others call it "the gram" "IG" is one of the easiest social network to understand. I wasn't too big of social networks to begin with, although I must admit it did help me stay in contact with old friends n some family members. I never really got too deep into Instagram until I had to take my Writing Research n Technology course. For this course we needed to dedicate ourselves to Instagram and explore it more than we usually would. Art to me is something that allows me to escape from the real world and enter my ART world!
Prose Poem by me!( inspired by my pencil=source of my art) :)
My Special Tool. The key to my creativity. The one that gets smaller by producing more; drawing my life away. My useful tool that I’ve grown a bond with throughout the years. My pencil. Nothing like a stick full of lead for us lead-ers. The one who guided me, erasing my mistakes and allowing me to draw up new ideas. New ideas that lead me to a museum. Inspired to hang my creations up for the world to see too. Amazed with what my eyes were introduced to. With nothing but my tool that will impress and inspire others to mimic my work too. How it’s held shows a little more about who I am. While others hold it like a preschooler in their beginning stages or a zombie killer, or maybe something simple like an artist like Me! My special tool. My pencil.
I took understanding Instagram to a different level. I thought about it as if I were a teacher already and how my students would express their creativity through different forms of art. I wanted to familiarize myself with it. We are all surrounded by a different form of art whether you recognize it or not.
It was so interesting to see all the different communities that were formed through this social network. This was all possible with the hash tag. It was when I decided to look more into the art community on Instagram when I discovered different types of art. As a future educator, I was able to see all kinds of ways to connect with my students when it came to completing assignments. Creativity was what came to mind. The fact that I was able to think about all the types of way I could connect to my future was super helpful.
Throughout this project I hope to enlighten others on the things I've been introduced to. After searching through the art hash tag. #art! I came across lots of things. (examples below)

There were different types of art I came across. Some of these forms I did not consider art before, but now I understand it a little better. Another thing that helped me see it better was my visit to the Philadelphia Art Museum. The museum displayed sculptures, paintings, object, photographs, and even a FISH TANK as pieces of art.
Below are some examples of the different forms of art I discovered while browsing through Instagram.

I look forward to furthering my knowledge with the art community and different ways it can be expressed. For example, fashion or music or dance or poetry is an art.
There is no true definition about what art is and I plan on searching for a good definition that will incorporate just about all of these ideas into one sentence to define it.
What kind of artist are you?!
