I chose to start my exploring on Instagram. This social network has opened by eyes to something I’ve yet to realize until now. Art comes in various forms. Some of these forms include street art, tattoo art, or everyday objects/situations that are turned into a picture, which is then made into art. There are no limitations to what can be considered art. When referring back to Barthes, you can see that the natural state of art is how people perceived art to be, such as paintings or drawings. This is proven wrong when one looks through an Instagram page and are introduced to the different forms of art our society has created.
Our society has made just about everything an art. From the clothes someone wears to the photos that are taken by photographers. Art is suspected to be something everyone can identify, but our society has constructed it into something far more interesting than that and Instagram is one tool used to show that. For example, I found on Instagram a photo of dirty dish watering draining in a sink. The picture had an image of an eye but when you took a closer look at what it really was you could figure out that this was a form of art that you might have missed to be considered art.
