My Writing, Research, and Technology class was a beneficial experience for me. It has introduced me to many things, such as:
-research scholarly journals properly
-analyze photos
-additional terms to my vocabulary
-how to dig deeper into Instagram with attempts to do the same for Twitter :)
-being able to concentrate on parts that are necessary for discussion
-brought me to new findings/discoveries on how to perceive things
-definitely gave me a challenge compared to other classes
-found more connections with things from the classroom
This course, which is a requirement for my major, has opened my eyes to a different type of class arrangement, something that will definitely help me with my future.
Before beginning this class I had no idea what I was going to learn or what types of works were required for this class. I took a look at the syllabus and was not prepared for what was to come. I , honestly, was a little afraid of what I was in for, but I knew I would make it. There were too many profound things I've learned within my class, but the one I think is on top of all is gathering my concentration on my work while challenging me.

One of the first assignments we were given was to watch a documentary titled, "Jiro Dreams of Sushi." After this documentary we were to look up reviews on the film and compare their thoughts to the thoughts of mine. I thought it was interesting that we had to do something like this. I found it difficult at first because it was something I've never done before. It was a big challenge for me to look things up and connect the thoughts of others with mine. I never did anything like this, which I also found pretty exciting. I was able to challenge myself with this assignment by making sure I did thee research to understand what I had to do.
One of the other things that I was introduced to that changed me thoughts as well as in a way challenge me was the documentary on "Bill Cunningham New York." He is a photographer that is dedicated to his work. Watching this video and reading more about photography introduced my eyes and thoughts to something that was not there before. This class allowed me to understand photography and even art for what it really was. For extra credit we had the option to compare the two documentary films. One thing I can say that they both did was show me another side to the things these guys had a dedication to.
I enjoyed this class for what I received from it. I can now continue my journey through college with more knowledge than before. Knowing new terms and how to research things will be helpful for me in the future. Out of all my classes this semester, this was the one class that I probably learned the most from. It wasn't just the material required for the class but the extra things as well. I would sit here and suggest you take this class too, but there's only one problem: you won't get the same experience without Professor Alexis.
It always feels good to leave a class knowing you've learned something and something that will stay with you and not just leave after the semester is over. Thanks for your time. Hope you enjoyed!
